Activists meet with Regina mayor about removal of John A. Macdonald statue

Two Regina women met with Mayor Michael Fougere Friday to discuss the possible removal of the Sir John A. Macdonald statue in Victoria Park. Kerry Bellegarde-Opoonechaw and Eveningstar Andreas created an online petition to urge the City of Regina to remove the statue of the first Canadian prime minister. The petition, which outlines Macdonald's mistreatment of Indigenous people, has gathered more than 2,500 signatures.
