Boyd Gaming Q2 loss widens on fewer casino visits

Boyd Gaming Corporation said Tuesday that its second-quarter net loss widened as the casino operator reopened at the end of the quarter but visitation and revenues remain weak. The Las Vegas-based company reported a loss of $108.5 million, or 96 cents a share, compared with a profit of $48.5 million, or 43 cents a share, in the same quarter a year ago. In the first quarter, when the pandemic's impact began to be felt, Boyd reported a loss of 16 cents a share.
