(Blog) Victor Rocha: Finding Time To Write A Blog & Other Observations

I apologize for not keeping up with my blog. The launch of the website has kept me very busy. My tiger blood is running thin and my Adonis DNA is fragmenting at the molecular level. I really need that nap.

Here are a several stories that caught my eye:

  1. Sheldon Adelson’s Las Vegas Sands got a subpoena from the SEC about their business dealings in Macau. Not surprising. Sheldon is one of the last of the great gaming moguls. He plays by his own rules & he’s meaner than a two-headed rattlesnake. I love the guy. He’s a hoot to watch.
  2. In 2009, revenue at U.S. Indian casinos fell from $26.7 billion to $26.4 billion. Here are some interesting stats from Alan Meister's report: "Native American gaming produced a total of $10.5 billion in federal, state and local tax revenue in 2009... Some 682,000 people worked at Native American casinos, and were paid $28 billion in wages."  HEY!!!! I thought Indians didn't pay taxes?
  3. This is a buffalo hunt? Really?
  4. Iowa jumps in the online poker battle. The race for online supremacy just got more interesting… if that’s humanly possible. GamblingCompliance.com says it's DOA in the Iowa Senate

I’ll post more of my witty & insightful observations when I get the chance.

Thanks for reading,

Victor
