In the Grand Canyon, Havasupai parents want to regain control over failing school

The Havasupai wanted their school back. Sixteen years had passed since the tribe handed control of Havasupai Elementary School to the federal government. Sixteen years of decline as it sank to the bottom of the Bureau of Indian Education’s 183-school system. Sixteen years with no influence over its only school.
