Mayor designates Oct. 8 as Indigenous Peoples Day in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt has designated Oct. 8 as Indigenous Peoples Day in Oklahoma City. Holt's proclamation contrasts with the city council's rejection in 2015 and 2016 of advocates' requests to designate the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples Day.
