North Dakota university receives $1.4 million grant to train Native American teachers, administrators

Two years ago, the University of Mary obtained a $1.1 million federal grant to support Native American students studying education. In rural schools across North Dakota, not just in tribal communities, recruiting qualified teachers and administrators is a huge challenge, according to Carmelita Lamb, associate dean of the University of Mary's Liffrig School of Education and Behavioral Sciences.
