Oneida Nation police to be deputized in Madison County

The Madison County Board of Supervisors has approved the Madison County Sheriff’s ability to deputize Oneida Indian Nation police officers. The power gives more authority to officers with the Oneida Indian Nation, which has its own police department for jurisdiction over Nation territory.
